Improving Attainment with low attaining students

Theme(s): Working mathematically with low attaining students

This two year project, funded by Esmee Fairnbairn Foundation, aimed to improve the attainment of low attaining students in key stage 3. To achieve this, the project worked with 10 teachers to identify and develop ways of working with key mathematical ideas and stimulating mathematical thinking. This resulted in the publication of the booklet ‘Deep Progress in Mathematics’. References to other papers can be found in Els’ bibliography
